Female Hairline Correction in Korea
Unlike men, women often experience hair thinning while retaining their frontal hairline, leading to less obvious but equally distressing hair loss. The variation in forehead shapes and contours further necessitates hairline corrections to enhance every individual’s facial structure.
Hairline correction surgery at Monara offers solutions for hair thinning experienced by women. Utilizing state-of-the-art techniques, Monara provides personalized treatments that yield natural-looking results, restoring hairline fullness and reducing the noticeability of female-patterned hair loss.

What is a Female Hairline Correction?
Medically stable for prone position – usually several hours of laying on your stomach is required for FUE so the patient must be medically stable for this type of positioning
There are a few characteristics that make someone a good candidate for FUE, including:
Adequate donor hair – usually from the back of the head
Short hairstyle – one of the advantages of follicular unit extraction (FUE) is the lack of a linear scar which is great for patients looking to wear a short hairstyle
Candidates for a Hairline Correction
Here at Monara, we provide hairline corrections to a wide variety of people with equally varying degrees of hair loss. While treatment journeys may vary, motivations for seeking a hairline correction are often similar. Additionally, hairline correction candidates must meet certain criteria to qualify for a transplant procedure as opposed to requiring hair loss treatment.
We recommend a hairline correction to those who:
- Have female pattern thinning hair
- Have hairline loss advanced enough to require a transplant
- Are suffering with self-consciousness due to hair thinning or loss
- Have realistic expectations and understand aftercare commitments
Hair Transplant for Women B&A
A receding hairline in women involves gradual thinning of hair along the forehead and temples, leading to a more pronounced forehead and increased visibility of the scalp. When it comes to correcting a woman’s hairline, the inclusion of baby hairs and a gradient transplant becomes much more essential compared to male hairline correction. What Are the Benefits of a FUE Hair Transplant?
An FUE hair transplant is one of the most popular hair loss treatments for men and for women. This type of hair transplant in Seoul offers more benefits over the existing methods to give you that fuller hair growth you desire.

The main benefit of an FUE is the natural look of your hair growth. The transplanted hair grows with your natural hair growth cycle, so you see improvement each successive week. Full results come after nine to 12 months, but the gradual increase in hair means no one can tell.
The safety factor of a follicular unit extraction is proven. The extraction of hair follicles is a minimally invasive procedure, with a fewer risks of complications. With no surgical incision, recovery is faster and the risk of infection is also lower.
Unlike other hair restoration techniques, FUE procedure is relatively painless. Your doctor numbs your scalp before the procedure using a local anesthetic. Afterward, your doctor may prescribe pain relievers for any temporary discomfort.

Our Six-Step FUE Hair Transplant Process
The steps in an FUE involve:
Follicular unit extraction is a popular alternative to traditional hair transplant procedures. The procedure uses hairs from your own scalp. Your surgeon performs the procedure using local anesthesia.
01
/
Consultation
Begins with a comprehensive consultation to analyze your hair loss pattern and expectations.
04/
Extraction
Your doctor extracts hair follicles using a micro punch tool. The doctor makes tiny incisions in the transplant area. Implantation of the extracted follicles on the incisions completes the procedure.
02/
Diagnosis
Specialists determine the extent of your hair loss and predict future patterns using diagnostic tools.
05/
Transplant
Precise insertion of hair follicles ensuring a natural growth pattern and high-density results.
03/
Design
A personalized hairline and density design is created to match your facial structure and preferences.
06/
Aftercare
After the procedure, the doctor cleans and bandages the implant area. As the anesthetic wears off, you may feel some discomfort. You may be given a short-term prescription for pain medication. Guidance on post-surgical care to ensure the best outcome, including medication, laser therapy, and follow-up visits.
Determining the Number of Hairs Needed for FUE
Determining the correct number of grafts for a successful hair transplant requires factors beyond just the treatment area.
The number of grafts needed for a successful hair transplant varies greatly depending on the individual’s hair loss extent, donor hair density, and desired outcome. Typically, a graft contains 1-4 hair follicles. For minor coverage, a few hundred grafts may suffice, while extensive baldness may require thousands.
During the consultation process, specialists at Monara use sophisticated tools to assess the donor area’s capacity and to plan the distribution of grafts.
Designing the Hairline and Crown
Natural Gradient Hairline
The natural hairline gradually thickens as it moves backward, which is why we utilize a process called gradient transplantation. This involves selecting hair follicles of different sizes before transplanting them. This procedure requires experience and expertise, as it is quite sophisticated.
Considering Hair Growth Directions
The hairline and crown require different transplantation techniques. High density is crucial for the front, while for the crown, it’s important to cover the maximum area by focusing on the angle and direction of hair growth.
Monara Hair Clinic emphasizes a detailed method for crown transplants, targeting density, aesthetic harmony, and hair quality for a naturally full appearance. We carefully place thicker grafts in the crown and finer grafts outward for a smooth transition with the existing hair.

Preventive and Predictive Design for FUE
Hair loss can continue even after transplantation. At Monara, we predict the progression of hair loss and transplant follicles preemptively. This ensures that if hair loss continues, it will remain unnoticeable.
Different strategies are needed for different hair loss stages, this is particularly important for younger patients who are in their 20s to 40s, considering their active hair loss progression. Without these predictive measures, you could face the need for additional surgeries within 2-3 years.
We ensure that our transplants not only address current thinning areas but also anticipate and cover future balding spots. This approach makes maintenance easier and reduces the need for additional procedures. Our strategy offers significant benefits, including cost savings, and emphasizes the importance of choosing experienced professionals for a personalized transplant plan that considers long-term outcomes.
Harvesting
On the surgery day, the donor area will be shaved based on the shaving method you have chosen, and local anesthesia will be applied. The doctor will use a special hole punch machine to extract the hair follicles from the back of the head. FUE hair transplantation surgery is still incisional surgery, which will form multiple circular scars across larger area, however surgeon’s technique will ensure no scar is visible. Once a sufficient amount of grafts have been extracted, the doctor then moves on to the transplant phase. If your surgeon suggests combining FUE and FUT methods, it is often to harvest more hair than a single method would allow.
Shaving Sites for Hair Transplant Surgery
Partial Shaving
The partial shaving approach focuses on a specific scalp section, often the donor area, keeping the remaining hair untouched. Ideal for those receiving fewer grafts and wishing to preserve their current hairstyle This method allows the unshaven hair to conceal the treated area, providing a more discreet solution than complete shaving.
Strip Shaving
The strip shaving technique involves shaving small areas in the donor zone for follicle extraction. This less visible method enables a quicker return to daily life, as surrounding hair conceals the treated sections, making it ideal for those seeking discreet recovery.
No Shaving
The no-shave technique eliminates the need for shaving, offering a discreet hair transplant option. It’s ideal for maintaining hairstyle continuity and minimizing visible signs of the procedure. This approach supports a quick return to daily activities, appealing to those seeking a subtle restoration process.

FUE Hair Transplant Recovery Timeline
Aftercare is crucial for the success of a hair transplant surgery. Monara provides aftercare instructions tailored to the specifics of each procedure. Recommendations often include gently washing with prescribed shampoos, avoiding direct sunlight, and refraining from strenuous activities that might stress the scalp. Medications to support hair growth and prevent further loss may also be prescribed. Regular follow-up appointments are essential to monitor progress and ensure the health of both the transplanted and existing hair follicles.
Day 1 – 30
– Mild pain may occur during the first week as your scalp heals. Small scabs will form in both the donor and recipient areas, but they heal quickly.
– The day after surgery, we provide post-operative care including bandage removal, disinfection, shampoo service, and laser treatment.
– We recommend using an antibiotic spray for 3 days.
– Most patients return home the day after the shampoo service, and dissolvable stitches or medical documentation will be provided if needed.
Month 1 – 3
70–80% of the transplanted hair may shed, which is normal. New growth typically begins between 3–5 months. You can contact us anytime for support, and local patients may visit for follow-ups.
Month 3 – 6
Shock loss may occur, but new hair will gradually grow at about 1 cm per month. Visible improvement takes time, so patience is important.
Month 6 – 12
Hair growth becomes more noticeable, with improved thickness and density. Full results are usually seen at 12 months, and a 1-year follow-up is recommended.
